Welcome to Our Mountain Homestead!

Hi, I’m Tina! My husband, Richard, and I are empty nesters of five, creating a life in the mountains of North Carolina.

Since 2014, we’ve been carving out our little piece of paradise.

Over the years, we’ve shaped our land into garden zones, and in 2020-2021, we finally cut in the last major area for our polytunnel.

In 2021, we invested in a freeze dryer, adding another layer to our food preservation efforts. One of my greatest joys is preserving the bounty from our garden and local farmers’ markets—whether through canning, dehydrating, freeze-drying, or crafting my herbal tea blends.

My goals are to create a well-stocked, rotating pantry using these six pillars of food preservation within budget, sales, and growing cycles.:

Freezing
Canning
Dehydrating
Freeze Drying
✨ Fermenting
✨ Foraging

I hope you’ll stop by from time to time to follow our journey! I’ll share updates, lessons learned, and maybe even a few stumbles along the way. I’m still figuring out the world of blogging and video editing (Final Cut Pro has been a challenge!), but after three years of excuses, it’s time to dive in.

Thanks for being here—your support means the world!

With love,
Tina
